what it does

Four scenes. One app.

scene i - the voice

A partner that actually listens.

It comes in on time. Waits when you pause. Jumps with you when you jump. Like a real reader.

scene ii - the binder

From PDF to practice in seconds.

Smart ingestion automatically parses your script, separating characters and lines. No manual typing. Just upload your sides and start rehearsing immediately.

scene iii - the mirror

The voice-activated teleprompter.

Glance when you need it. The page follows your voice so you never lose your place.

scene iv - the pocket

Rehearse anywhere.

Turn the backseat of an Uber or the subway into a private studio. Practice with your eyes closed, even offline, and get instant feedback on your accuracy.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I get OnBook?

OnBook launches in March 2026 for iPhone and iPad. Get notified and we'll email you when it goes live on the App Store.

Will my scripts be private?

Your rehearsal material is treated as private and handled with security controls built for sensitive audition workflows.

How does OnBook fit into self tape recording?

Use OnBook as the reader on a second device while you record video in your camera app or normal setup. It does not record video itself. Use your own recorded reader voice with pitch shift, or use a friend's recorded voice, so you do not need another person in the room. For most self tapes, place OnBook slightly off-lens for a natural eyeline.

Can I rehearse offline?

Yes. OnBook works offline. Unlike some alternatives, your speech is processed 100% on your device for faster response and stronger reliability.

How are reader lines generated?

OnBook starts instantly with a clean neutral reader voice so you can rehearse right away. Prefer a human? Record the reader lines yourself or invite a friend to record them. Either way, OnBook handles cue timing and follows your performance so it behaves like a real scene partner.
